Alexandria Fiber Company SAE (AFCO) is an Indo-Egyptian joint venture of the Aditya Birla Group. With an excellent track record of the Group in the acrylic fibre industry in Asia through its presence in Thailand, AFCO represents the Group's extension of the acrylic fibre business in the Middle East, Africa and European region. The plant has been set up with technology from Japan Exlan Co., Ltd., and basic engineering and equipment supply from Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., Japan. The unit will cater to the large domestic market in Egypt apart from catering to markets in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
